Florence Marie Birtcher Moody

1924 ~ 2017

Our beautiful, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister, Florence Marie Birtcher Moody left us and joined her eternal sweetheart on December 12, 2017. She was born on January 8, 1924 to William Wayment and Virginia Pearl Martin Birtcher in Morgantown, West Virginia and was married for time and all eternity to Howard Jay Moody in the Manti LDS Temple.

She loved the Lord and her family and spent her life serving them and others. She served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including stake and ward Relief Society president, Junior Sunday School coordinator, MIA president, Primary President, and visiting teacher. She served valiantly in the temple, attending every week for many years.

She taught us by her Christ-like example the principles of hard work, honesty, faith, love, charity and compassion. She and our father always lived the principles they taught us.

She was famous for her homemade chocolates and gave so much of herself to make hundreds of boxes of candy every year, which she generously shared with her grateful family and neighbors. She loved family get-togethers and gathered her family together on as many holidays as possible and whenever she had an opportunity to do so.

Mom, we love you dearly and will miss you so very much! We are grateful for your strength, your complete and total faith in the Lord and in us, and for all you taught us!

Florence is survived by her children; Cheryl (Ron) Tate, Craig (Karlene), Jaydene (Michael) Zarbock, Doug (Chris), Darin, and Jennifer Bassi, as well as 26 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and her sister Viola Aston. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Emma, brothers; Gene, Dave, and Don and son-in-law Chad Washburn.
