Dorothy Dean Anderson Jensen, age 86, passed awayMay 19, 2018 in West Jordan, Utah.

Dorothy was born on January 5, 1932 to Henry Theodore and Myra Thomas Anderson in Sandy, Utah. She graduated as valedictorian from Jordan High School and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah in Elementary Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Teaching and music were the loves of her life. She taught piano lessons for 65 years, wrote and directed numerous roadshows and various choirs, taught early morning seminary for six years, worked as a substitute teacher and in health services at Santa Monica College.A few of her many service opportunities include being a ward Relief Society president, going on a mission with her husband, Rulon Dale Jensen, for the LDS church to the London South Mission, and serving in the Los Angeles Temple.

On December 18, 1953 she was married to Rulon Dale Jensen of Magna, Utah in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder Spencer W. Kimball. They moved to Culver City, California and together they raised 9 children and 5 foster children (Don Whatoname, Gloria Ramirez, Rita Silversmith, Jessie Black, and Rose Parrish).

She is survived by her nine children: Laurel Dean (George) Karlsven, David Clark (Dawn) Jensen, Daniel Thomas (Laura Jane) Jensen, Myra-Lynn (Richard) Doughty, John Dale (Eva) Jensen, Joseph Henry (Holly) Jensen, Mary Laurena (Dan) Laprevote, RulonStillwell (LeaAnne) Jensen, Rachel Lavon (Darren) Breen; younger sister Glenda Lynn Anderson (Jerry) Pace; 30 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and older brother Howard Anderson.

A viewing will be heldThursday, May 24 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT.Interment will follow immediately after the viewing.

On Saturday, May 26, Condolences may be offered to the family from10:00 to 10:45 am.Memorial services will begin at11:00.Condolences and Memorial will be held at the LDS church on 11173 South Copper Point Way (3200 West), South Jordan, Utah.
