Myrle Waite Whitehead Rasmussen

1920 ~ 2014

Myrle Rasmussen passed away November 12, 2014 in Henderson, NV at age 93. She was born December 16, 1920 in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Samuel Stephan and Edith Alta Waite Whitehead.

Aunt Myrle was a loving daughter, wonderful aunt, homemaker, volunteer, and traveler. She lived a life of service-including serving as a wave in the U.S. Navy during World War II, volunteering many years with the Salt Lake County Chapter of the American Red Cross and for the Library of Congress. After her husband Max retired they moved to Las Vegas. There she volunteered for more than twenty years at the Desert Springs hospital. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Aunt Myrle was a loving person in the lives of her family. Her nieces and nephews have many wonderful memories of time spent with her. She will be greatly missed. Her family would like to express gratitude to her dear neighbors and friends in Nevada, especially Brian and Rochelle Stout and their family who watched over our aunt lovingly.

She is survived by her brother Sam Whitehead, sister Wilda Short, her loving nieces and nephews and her faithful little BeBe. She was preceded in death by her husband Max, her parents, two sisters Dahl and Edith and a brother Kenneth.

A graveside service will be held, Friday, November 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery (2350 E. 1300 S. Salt Lake City).
