Lorne Richard Sisam

1926 ~ 2015

Dick Sisam, 88 years old returned to his Heavenly Father on April 18th 2015.

He was born to Alma Niels Sisam and Edith Bess Sisam on September 11, 1926.

He graduated from South High School in 1945, where he was a member of the ROTC. He enlisted in the military where he served in Alaska. After being honorably discharged, he served an LDS mission in the Eastern States. After returning home he met the love of his life, Colleen Moore. On July 2, 1954 their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple, their love story lasted 60 wonderful years. They were blessed with 4 children Lorrin, Rebecca, David and Shannon.

Dad enjoyed public service, which included scouting, where he earned the esteemed Silver Beaver Award. He served on a number of service committees, including the Salt Lake County Private Industry Council, active in NECA, and the SERTOMA Organization. He served as an LDS Bishop and in the Bishopric for 9 years in the Colonial Hills II Ward. He also served as Branch President of the Brighton Utah Branch. He was owner and President of Sisam Electric, Inc. which his father Alma Niels established in 1906.

Dad enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and grandchildren at their family cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Dick was preceded in death by son David and granddaughter Brittany.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Colleen, son Lorrin (Lawana), Daughters Rebecca VanCott (Darrell) and Shannon Wilde (Jeffrey), 11 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be Tuesday, April 21st 2015 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 22nd 2015 at the LDS Wasatch 5th Ward 8100 S. Top of the World Dr. (3675 E.), Cottonwood Heights at 12:00 noon with a viewing preceding the funeral where friends and family may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
