Marvin Monk Simmons was born June 23, 1927 in Cowley, Wyoming to Joseph and Johannah Simmons. He passed away on Apr. 8, 2017 in Sandy, Utah of natural causes.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mollie, his second wife, Dolly, son, Dennis, and grandson, Jeff. He is survived by 4 children: Dave (Luanne), Pam (Phil Bates), Laurie (Wayne Johnson), and Lee (Wendy), the Sperry children, Scott, Tami and Lynn, Jeff and Connie. Also, 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He served his country during WWII in the Navy. He served as Bishop of the Winder 8th ward in the LDS Church as well as many other church callings
A viewing will be held on Monday, Apr. 17, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary on 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd (10600 So) from 10:00 - 11:30 am. A graveside service will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at noon. Online condolences: www.larkincares.com
