James Otto Dillon

1945 ~ 2017

Our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, James Dillon, (Jimbo) 71, was reunited with his parents November 11, 2017. Born December 6, 1945 to George H. Dillon and Mary W, Dillon in Salt Lake City.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Rose Park. He attended Onequa Elementary, Jackson Jr High, and was a very proud West High Alumni. He served in numerous church callings, including scouting and the Special Needs Mutual. Jim was a passionate sports fan, graceful dancer, and proud Eagle Scout. Jim was agreeable, humorous, and an insightful social commentator. He was a lover and feeder of birds. Jim managed life's challenges with courage and dignity. He was a caring son, loyal brother, and beautiful spirit.

He is survived by his siblings, Christine (Ron) Kuehne, Kenny (Mary) Dillon, Ed (Sharon) Dillon, and Kathryn (Doug) Johnson, 13 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and a large extended family in California, Missouri, Ohio, and Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim's funeral service will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Family and friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. before the service. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If you wish to donate in Jim's name, please donate to the Boy Scouts of America.
