LeRoy Parkin Taylor

1919 ~ 2015

LeRoy (Bob) Parkin Taylor, 96, returned to his heavenly home Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was our family's beloved patriarch, loving support and provider. We learned from him that anything worth doing is worth our best effort. He taught us through his example what it means to be generous, how helping others when it's least convenient can alter lives, how a sense of humor—even if it's occasionally corny—can get us through hard things, and how, if all else fails, the candy drawer works. As Vice President of American Savings and Loan for over twenty years, he helped many small business owners get their start. His belief in investing in people extended to his investment in his family through his constant support, his love, belief in and cheerleading for each child, grandchild and great grandchild. Bob served a mission in The Netherlands until war broke out, then finished serving in the Eastern States mission. He married JoAnn Edmonds and shortly after enlisted in the military and proudly served as an Army officer during WWII. We'll remember our Dad and Grandpa singing and tap dancing, cooking dutch oven meals with our mom at the cabin, filling our hearts with love and our pockets with goodies. We're grateful we had him with us for so long and we rejoice that he will be ours forever.

Bob is survived by his daughters Margo (Garfield Cook), Victoria (Bob Williams) and Linda (Scott Cameron), daughter-in-law Diane Taylor, a brother Jay Olsen, 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, JoAnn and his son Steven L. Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28 2015 at 12 noon at the Holladay 18th Ward, 2625 E. Milo Way, Holladay, UT. Friends and family may call Friday, March 27 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 South, and from 11-11:45 prior to services at the ward building. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
