Bob Dunn

1943 ~ 2017

Bob (Bobbie) DeWain Dunn born October 12, 1943 in Price Utah, and left this life on June 1, 2017.

Bob was the youngest child born to George and Lily Dunn. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School in 1962. Bob went on to earn an Associate's Degree. On February 21, 1964 Bob married his soul mate Peggy Jeanene Mitchell in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 53 years and had seven children.

Bob worked at Kennecott Copper Mine for 26 years as a Millwright and Carpenter, and then worked at Salt Lake Community College for 10 years as a carpenter.

Bob served many callings in the LDS Church including, counselor in the bishopric, high councilman, taught Gospel Doctrine and was serving in the Utah Salt Lake West Mission, now serving in heaven.

Bob had an amazing sense of humor, he was always cracking jokes, making sarcastic comments and even in the end, when he was in so much pain, he was still making the nurses laugh with his smart remarks.

Bob was so smart, he could answer any question in any topic and maybe sometimes he was wrong, but it sure sounded good. He loved to read and he read all kinds of books, scary books, history books, church books, it didn't matter he just loved to read. He used to say "the more you read the more you will know" and boy did he know a lot.

Bob loved to garden and his yard showed it. He would spend hours out in the yard planting so many beautiful flowers and jamming out the whole time to his favorite, Bob Dillon.

Bob's true love and passion though was for the only "true team of heaven" the LA Dodgers. He fell in love with them when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers and was THRILLED when they moved to LA because now they were closer and he could go to some of the games. Bob visited the "shrine" as often as he could, that was his true happy place, and each year he would say "this is the year "but alas ….

Bob was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He always put his family first (even ahead of the Dodgers), and it wasn't easy, Bob worked so hard and sacrificed so much just so all seven of his kids had clothes on their backs, food in their bellies and smiles on their faces. Bob gave them a wonderful life and taught them all so much.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Jordan Valley West Campus ICU and SDCH Specialty Hospital, this was such a hard time, and the staff treated Bob with respect, dignity, and kindness.

One of the hardest things Bob went through was the death of his baby girl Cindy, although the family is going to miss him so very much it give us all some comfort knowing he is with his Cindy Bindy again.

Bob is survived by his wife Sister Peggy Dunn, children Sutton (Chris) Wayman, Leslie (Steve) Floisand, Michael Dunn, Robin (Shauna) Dunn, Travis Dunn, and Kenneth Dunn, his brother Gene (Nicki) Dunn and a sister.

Proceeded in death by his parents, two sisters, daughter Cindy Erin and grandson Christopher Wayman.
