Arla, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her beloved home on Friday, June 16, 2017 with family by her side. She was born in 1945 in Salt Lake City to Robert O'Dell Latimer and Lou Jean Lewis. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Arla was married to Sheldon Hamilton in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved Sheldon with all of her heart; together they had 2 sons. Arla enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved spending her time on vacations, going to movies, cruising the world and serving in several positions in the church. Arla's love of the gospel and her strong testimony helped sustain her throughout her life.
Arla was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Sheldon, her two sons Scott (Melisa) and Troy (Angie),her brother, Richard ; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at 3:00 pm at the LDS Chapel located at 10124 South 1300 West, South Jordan, Utah. Friends and family may call for a viewing either prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 am on Wednesday, June 21 at the LDS Chapel or Tuesday, June 20 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South).
Arla knows her family can be together forever. We will miss her, but look forward to the day we willbe reunited.
