Marina Sams

1993 ~ 2019

Marina Sams passed away in Riverton, Utah on October 15, 2019 at the age of 26. She was born in Austin, Texas on January 6, 1993 to Jay and Yuko Sams.

Marina loved animals, especially dogs and always had dogs in her life. She was so excited about the puppy she got last week, sending us pictures or videos of them together. She especially enjoyed long walks or hikes but only if she had a dog with her.

Marina had many dreams and dreams about how those dreams would improve her life. One of her dreams was to be an entrepreneur and she was saving money so she could go back to school and achieve her dreams. Marina always claimed to be a shy or introverted but anytime she showed up to a gathering, she was the person everyone wanted to talk to and be around for the remainder of the event. Marina was one of the hardest workers when she cared about the result. She wanted to make a career and her intelligence, personality and drive would allow her to see things an average worker couldn\t.

No matter how her day went or how life was pulling her down she could always bring a smile to your face and help you feel better about yourself. She never made you feel insecure or belittle you in any way. She helped you push past your limits by seeing a way around them that you didn\t see without her help.

But her limiting factor was always her chronic back pain that she had for the past 10 years as it always seemed to interfere with her plans, goals and dreams. She will always be remembered as the person who wanted to get to know you on a personal level and spend quality time learning about you. She will be missed every day. We know everyone will cherish the memories of their time with her.

Yuko\s favorite memory is when Marina replied to her text with \"Mom I love you but don\t text me at 2 AM because I\m sleeping\" and pretty much every time she said \"Mom, I love you\".

Jay\s favorite memory is when she secretly practiced \"Piano Man\" by Billy Joel while he was at work and then played it at a piano recital as a bonus song dedicated to her father.

Forrest\s favorite memory is when she told him that if she didn\t have back pain she would just hike and hike and enjoy nature. It resonated with him because you don\t know what you have until you don\t have it anymore.

Anthony\s favorite memory is when they played old video games in the basement together. They would play a game like Luigi\s Mansion or Super Mario Sunshine together for hours, laughing and trying to figure out how they beat those games so easily when they were younger.

Trevor couldn\t choose a favorite memory. He cherishes all the time he was able to spend with her. He loved her more than any girl he ever met.

She is survived by, Jay Sams (Father), Yuko Sams (Mother), Forrest Sams (Brother), Anthony Sams (Brother), Trevor Young (Oldest Friend).

There will be a viewing at Larkin Mortuary Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton on Saturday October 19, 2019 from 1 to 3pm.
