Randy John Jones

1959 ~ 2022

Randy Jones, father, son, brother and friend to all he met, left us February 26, 2022, at his home in West Jordan. He was born August 5, 1959, in Murray, UT to Gary J. Jones and Sharon Jones. Randy attended school in Sandy, graduating from Hillcrest High School. He married Pamela Gessell, later divorced. They had two children, Christopher and Desiree.

Randy built RJ Construction from the ground up and was known for his detailed carpentry work and perfectionism. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He spent time at the family cabin hunting, fishing, listening to music and if there was a baseball game on Randy was probably watching.

Randy is survived by his children Christopher (Jennifer), Desiree (Jerome), seven grandchildren (Danika, Jerome “Melky”, Joselyn, Haley, Cohen, Ryker and Ireland), his mother Sharon, brother Rick (Shannon), nieces, cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father Gary and sister Cindy Mann.

We will miss Randy for so many things. His laugh, his smile, his sense of humor, his willingness to drop everything when someone needed his help and his special skill of turning song lyrics into everyday philosophies. He left us too soon and will be forever loved by his family and friends. Randy used to say “I am coming back. I will return” (Iron Maiden). He may be gone but never forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 am prior to the services.
