Mary Lucille Jacklin Mackay of Salt Lake City passed away at the age of 86 on May 26, 2020 in Provo, Utah. Mary Lue was born April 30, 1934 - she was the middle child of seven children of Earl George Jacklin and Inez Oaks. She married William (Bill) T. Mackay Jr. on January 16, 1973 in the Los Angeles, California temple. She grew up in Daniels, Utah on a farm where she drove tractor and helped with the farm chores. She played Clarinet while at Wasatch High School and played in the marching band. Mary Lue attended BYU and later graduated from LDS Business college .From 1957 to 1958, she served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Gulf States Mission, spending most of her time in south Texas. She served in many callings in the church throughout her life.. She worked as the Bureau Director of Vital Records for Salt Lake County for 22 years. After her retirement, Mary Lue worked in the Salt Lake Temple and served in the Joseph Smith Family History Center. Mary Lue was an excellent seamstress and sewed clothes for many of her 12 nieces and 16 nephews. . She loved to travel and took trips to Israel, Washington DC and went on an Alaskan Cruise. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her father, Earl, and mother, Inez, her sisters Monta Durrant, Elva Hamblin, Wilma Reynolds, and her brothers John Jacklin and Earnest Jacklin.
