Norrine Ward

1938 ~ 2015

Norrine Ward passed away peacefully on September 14, 2015 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 76 years old. Norrine lived a rich life filled with love and joy. She was born in Paul, Idaho to Clarence Vernon Meacham and Marie Meacham. She married Robert J. Ward on January 2, 1960.

Norrine was kind, thoughtful and gracious. She was loved, admired and cherished by all who knew her. A love she returned with all her heart. She was the last to ask for anything but gave everything without hesitation. She met Robert Ward at Walker Bank where they both worked and soon fell in love forming a companionship that would last a lifetime. Bob was her champion and she loved him dearly. She loved her children (Curtis R. [Jana] and Leslie W. [Frank Corbett]) and taught them the value of hard work, empathy, integrity and compassion. She was always there for them and cherished sharing their successes and failures. She loved her grandchildren (Erin and Sean Ward; Alyssa, Julia and Marcus Corbett) and never missed an opportunity to be with them. They were the light of her life and brought her great joy. She took great pride watching them grow and succeed, and they in turn loved their Nana.

Norrine loved to travel and she and Bob traveled extensively throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. She was a volunteer at Camp Kostopulus for many years. She was an avid golfer and an accomplished bridge player. One of her favorite activities was bridge with the Country Club ladies, where they shared not only their fondness of the game but their love of each other. They were such an important part of her life. She owned and operated a successful clothing business (Norrine Ward) in Salt Lake City for many years. She always displayed great style and fashion. She would never leave home, or even her bedroom, until she looked just right.

We'll miss you mom (Nana) but more importantly we will remember you often. We love you dearly.

Norrine is survived by her husband, two children, five grandchildren, and sister, Lorraine Ward; preceded in death by her adored sister Patty.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Kostopulos or a charity of your choice.
