Rhonda Olney Henderson, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on July 19, 1935, in Smithfield, Utah, to Hyrum Leroy Olney and Annis Seamons Olney. Rhonda grew up in Cache Valley, married Jerald R. Henderson and they have 3 daughters, Pamela, Jerolyn and Angela.
Rhonda moved to Salt Lake City after graduating high school where she worked for several companies. Jerry would often make the trip from Cache Valley to visit her. They were married in 1955 and Rhonda moved with him to several states as the military transferred them. While living in El Paso, their oldest 2 daughters were born. After Jerry’s discharge from the army, they moved to Granger, Utah, where their youngest daughter was born. Jerry’s job later took them to Kansas, back to Utah, then to Colorado, and then finally to retirement in Utah.
Rhonda held several part-time jobs during the early part of their marriage. The longest and most loved part of her career was working in schools. She loved working with students and colleagues as a secretary in several high schools in Granite District and in a junior high in Kansas. She finally retired when Jerry did in order to travel and spend time with family and friends.
Rhonda was an avid reader and shared her love of books with her daughters. She shared her love of games with her grandchildren while sitting around the dining room table. She loved to celebrate with family and friends in her home where she could decorate and cook for anyone and everyone.
Rhonda and Jerry spent much of their retirement traveling all over the United States, Europe, and taking cruises to many places. Many of her travels were with family and friends and she enjoyed the time spent with them.
She remembered their travels fondly and for the rest of her life wished that she could have continued traveling to many more parts of the world.
Married almost 70 years when Jerry passed away several months ago, she has missed him ever since. No doubt their reunion was filled with great joy and that brings their family peace and comfort.
Rhonda is survived by her daughters Pamela Godfrey (John) and Angela Wilcox (Lynn), 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 on the way and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way, and her brother Kenneth Olney (Edith). She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jerolyn Monson and her husband, Jerald R. Henderson.
The family would like to thank Crescent Senior Living and Canyon Hospice staff for their tender care of our mother and grandmother.

My deepest sympathy go to you, Pam and your family. It’s really hard to lose a mom and my heart goes out to you.
So sorry for the loss of a great woman. Rhonda was one of my favorite people to see at the reunions. She was always easy to talk to and made me feel loved.
