Richard "Dick" Barton

After a long hard few months Dick passed on peacefully on August 24, 2024 surrounded by family to be with the love of his life and son.

Dick was born July 13, 1937 in Salt Lake City Utah and was married to Carole Cole Barton in the Salt Lake City temple October 9, 1964. He attended the University of Utah where he majored in commercial art and minored in accounting. Dick later retired from the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office.

He was an amazing concert pianist, loved playing with his grandkids and being around his family. He also loved gardening, Utah Jazz and cooking.

Dick is survived by his 4 children Stacie Moss (Thomas Moss), Steve Barton, Michael “Todd” Barton and Leslie Thompson. 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Wynona Barton, wife Carole Barton, his son Jeffrey Barton and brother Douglas Barton.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City. Viewings will be held at the same location Tuesday evening, September 3rd from 6-8PM as well as Wednesday prior to services beginning at 1PM. Interment will follow at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
