Robert Alden Coppins passed away on May 23, 2026. Robert was born on May 18, 1937, to Laurin Alden Coppins and Virginia Pearl Hanson Coppins. From a young age, “Bob” was a kind and gentle soul. He loved old Western movies and music and secretly wished he could have been a cowboy riding out in the glories of nature and sleeping under the stars. He was fascinated by medicine and followed that path to work in the pharmaceutical industry. At 21, he fell in love with Linda Morrison and married her on June 12, 1958. They were married for 51 years and had 5 children. He is survived by Kali and Troy, David and Carol, Rebecca and Brian, Matt and Megan, and Melissa. To Robert’s sorrows, Linda Coppins passed away in 2009. Two years later, he married Joyce Muir Coppins who gifted him with love and companionship for the last fifteen years.
Robert loved collecting stamps and this hobby became his lifelong side business where he made many long distant friendships by letter. He tried to share his love of stamp collecting to his children, but without success.
Besides his family, his faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was of the utmost importance to him. Robert was a quiet man of integrity, honesty, decency, peace, and kindness. His enduring legacy of love towards all that he came in contact with lives on through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Until we meet again, Dad.
