Robert Allen Tischler returned peacefully to our Heavenly Father after a long battle with Cancer. He was born November 4, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the son of John Ignatious Tischler and Ruth Arlene Leis. He died October 4, 2023.

In 1959 Bob joined the United States Air Force. He became an Air Plane Mechanic and worked on the B47 Bombers and the F100 Super Sabre Jet. After Four years of service he received an Honorable Discharge. He had a great love for his country. He loved to read books about the history of our country and the Founding Fathers. He especially felt a reverence toward Washington. After his military he moved to Provo, Utah and went to BYU. He worked at several different jobs including building homes to pay for his college. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He also worked in the Air Freight business; this was his favorite work.

Bob was a convert to the Church of Jesus of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel and a desire to share his testimony with others. He served a Stake Mission in the Cottonwood Heights Stake. In his elderly years he also served a Leadership mission in the Lansing Michigan Mission with his wife, Linda. During this mission they worked on activation and held several different callings. Their favorite part of this mission was having the opportunity to preach the Gospel and to bring several converts into the church. He continued after his mission to set an example of his love and commitment to Jesus Christ. On one occasion a fellow worker came to him and thanked Bob for helping him to become converted. He asked Bob to baptize him into the church. Bob stayed valiant to his testimony. He loved going to the temple with his wife. He served in many church callings such as: Sunday School President, High Priest Group Leader, Teacher over Young Adults, Elder's Quorums, Sunday school and Primary. Bob loved the church members and enjoyed their friendship.

In 1984 he met and married his wife, Linda Conger in the Salt Lake Temple. He readily accepted her five children (ages 3 to 15) just like they were his own. Two years later he and Linda had a son together and they named him, Robert John Tischler. All of Linda's older children who were married at that time loved and accepted him. He became a Father image to them as well and was a strong and righteous example to them all. They were a closely united Family and they all loved their big family get-togethers.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Conger Tischler, his son, Robert John Tichler. His stepchildren are: Deborah Whitaker-Lucas, Linda & Jerel Potter, Wade Wadley, Daniel & Linda Wadley, Laura Bernasconi, Julie & Jeff Jenson, Rachel & Diego DiFini, James & Ashley Wadley, Trisha & Eric Villarreal plus their families. Bob and Linda have 48 Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). His funeral will be Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00am with a viewing one hour prior to the service at the Buttercup Ward, 1600 East Buttercup Drive (10075 South). Interment will be at the Elwood City Cemetery -10000 North 5200 West - Elwood City, Utah at 3pm.

Please accept our condolences on the passing of your dear husband, father and grandfather. Bob was a wonderful friend & neighbor who was very kind, thoughtful and courteous. He loved the Lord, the gospel and of course his family. We loved him bearing his testimony of these truths and especially of the sacredness of this country. We will miss him but know he is now at a place where he feels no pain. We pray for the Lords blessing of comfort and strength to all of you until you are reunited with Bob.
