Robert Edgar Fisher II

1943 ~ 2022

Robert Edgar Fisher II, 78, peacefully passed away at his home in Herriman, UT, on April 9, 2022 after a 21 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1943 in Lansing, MI, to Robert Edgar Fisher and Marian Azalea (Dickerson) Fisher who were students at Michigan State University. On September 30, 1972 he married his best friend, Linda (Radke) Fisher. They went on to have 4 lovely children and 17 wonderful grandchildren.

He served in many capacities throughout his life. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many leadership positions. Some of his favorite positions were in scouting, on his mission in the translation department at church headquarters in Salt Lake City, and for 11 summers in Nauvoo on the Nauvoo Pageant staff. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Multi-disciplinary Social Science. He was a member of the Singing Statesman Choral group at MSU and loved singing throughout his life. He was a true Spartan for his whole life and always cheered on the football and basketball teams. Go Green! Go White! He enjoyed exercising with the Rock Steady Boxing group for those with Parkinson’s.

He never met a computer he didn’t like. He always kept up with the latest technology. His engineering prowess was adept at fixing anything mechanical or electrical. His lifelong career was with the United States Postal Service including being a Plant Manager and an Industrial Engineer. He loved spending time with his family. He was willing to go along with any adventure his wife planned such as canoeing, camping, sailing, traveling, white water rafting, biking, cross country skiing, golfing, etc.

He was a great example to others of patience, long suffering, loyalty, wisdom, and humor. His legacy lives on through his posterity.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made in his honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in the fight against Parkinson’s Disease.

He is survived by his spouse, Linda Fisher, and children, Matthew (Sheila) Fisher, Christopher (Luna) Fisher, Julie (Forest) Sickles, Kami (John) Budge and sister Betty Lue Lieber (Robert Waldon).
