Robert Elden Pritt passed away at home at the age of 87 on September 2, 2021, surrounded by family.

Robert was born and raised in Keyser, West Virginia. He was the son of Doctor Robert and Hilda Roxy Pritt. After his high school graduation, he ventured off to discover the world. He spent time in Washington D.C., studied weather patterns on Mount Washington while serving in the US Army, then eventually attended college in Provo, UT. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in Public Administration. While at school, he met the love of his life, Anita Voeltz. They were married on September 14, 1964. Robert and Anita continued exploring the world with moves to Seattle Washington, Atlanta Georgia, and Dillon Montana. In all their wanderings, they loved the outdoors-- camping, hiking, fishing, birdwatching, plant-identifying. They have rolls of film with just pictures of flowers, birds, trees, and waterfalls to prove their love of nature. They finally settled on the top of a mountain in Duchesne, Utah, where they could be in the woods every day.

Robert loved his family. In his perfect world, he would have his family with him while he hiked a trail and meandered through the woods. He is survived by his children Kimberly Staker (Mark), David Pritt (Jennifer), and Joel Pritt (Michelle) his brother Tom Pritt (Ann), 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Louise Voeltz, his sisters Hilda Grace Shoemaker and Genevieve Pritt Hampton, and his brother, Wayne Pritt.

A graveside service was held for the family on September 4, 2021, at Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Guestbook/Condolences

Kimberly, David and Joel,
We are so saddened to hear of your father’s passing, but know he and your mom are thrilled to be reunited. We love our memories of snowmobiling in West Yellowstone and visiting while relaxing in their hot tub at their Bennion home. Their zest and enthusiasm for life was always a great example to us. May you feel peace as you reflect on all your wonderful memories.

I have nothing but fond memories of my larger-than-life uncle. I loved it when we would have family get-togethers. He always made me feel taller and bigger than I was just treating me so kindly. I loved his laugh and his smile. Love you Uncle Bob! You will be missed!

Kristy and I would like to send our condolences. I have many fond memories from learning to play pool and hot tubs.

What I remember most is Robert's voice. It is hard to describe in detail, but in the way he spoke his tone would shift and the emphasis on different words always left me feeling cared about.

Love you all, Steve and Kristy Pritt
