Robert Felix Fratto Sr

Robert Felix Fratto passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old.

Bob was born on June 24, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph C. Fratto and Adelene Fassio Fratto. Raised in Salt Lake City, he developed a love for family, sports, and friendships that would last a lifetime. He graduated from South High School in 1969 and continued his education at the University of Utah that fall.

A gifted athlete, Bob proudly wore the crimson and white as a defensive tackle for the University of Utah football team from 1970 to 1972. His hard work, determination, and talent earned him All-American and All-Western Athletic Conference honors, and he was recognized as one of the nation's top defensive linemen. Bob graduated from college in 1974.Bob remained a devoted Utah Utes fan throughout his life, sharing his passion for football with family and friends.

Bob married the love of his life, Alicea, on July 14, 2007. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They enjoyed traveling the world, discovering new restaurants, creating lasting memories, and spending time with their beloved dog, Henry. Their adventures were often shared with Bob's brother, Joe. Whether traveling together, Sunday lunches, or simply enjoying life's everyday moments, Bob treasured the time they spent together.

Bob dedicated his professional life to serving children and families through education. He spent 34 years with the Jordan School District, where he worked as both a teacher and a special education administrator. He concluded his distinguished career by serving four years as a Special Education Coordinator for Granite School District. Bob believed that every child deserved someone who believed in them, and he made it his mission to be that person. He touched countless lives with his patience, kindness, and genuine ability to connect with students, families, and colleagues alike. The impact he made on those he served will continue for generations.

When he wasn't working or spending time with family, Bob could often be found on the golf course. Golf was more than a hobby—it was a passion and an opportunity to enjoy friendly competition, good conversation, and the beauty of the outdoors. Whether celebrating a great shot or laughing off a bad one, Bob cherished the friendships and memories made on the fairways. Bob also loved to cook and found great joy in preparing meals for his family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were spent bringing people together around the table, sharing good food, laughter, and conversation.

Above all else, Bob loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose quiet strength and generosity made everyone around him feel welcome and valued. He found great joy in celebrating the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and nieces.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Adelene Fratto, and his sister-in-law, Peggy Fratto, the beloved wife of his brother, Joe.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alicea; his stepdaughters, Jessica (Hyrum) and Monica; his children, Rob Fratto of New York and Lisa (John) Buske of Colorado; his cherished grandchildren, Kate, Owen, and Raina; his brother, Joe; and his nieces Anne (Clyde), Sara Helen, Lauren, Carolyn (Brian), Madison, and Luke.

Bob's legacy is one of dedication, compassion, loyalty, and love. Whether on the football field, in the classroom, on the golf course, in the kitchen, or around the family dinner table, Bob gave his whole heart to the people and passions he loved. His kindness, integrity, generosity, and unwavering support for others will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Larkin Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. A visitation with family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the memorial service beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Utah Home Health and Hospice, especially Season, Jonathan, and Michael, for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Bob and his family during his final days. Their support and compassion brought comfort and peace during a difficult time and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob's memory to Good Sports, helping to ensure that more children have access to the life-changing opportunities and lessons that come through sports—a cause that reflected Bob's lifelong belief in the power of teamwork, perseverance, and giving every child a chance to succeed.

Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of compassion, dedication, and joy for life will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the hearts of his family and friends.
