Our sweet and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Bob was born August 26, 1937, in Thatcher, Idaho to Harold (Hiley) and Mary Campbell. He grew up in Sandy, Utah, and graduated from Jordan High School in 1956. He excelled at football, wrestling, track and baseball. He attended Dixie College on a football scholarship and was co-captain of the football team. While a student at Dixie, he founded the wrestling program at Dixie High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Armed Services.

It was during his high school years that he met the love of his life, Gloria Jean Heaps, on a blind date. They were married January 21, 1960, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple remained faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were blessed with four children. Bob was a loving and supportive father.

He influenced many for good as he coached Little League Football, baseball and church sports. Bob enjoyed the outdoors; especially camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. His other interests included gardening, expanding his coin collection, gold prospecting, watching old Westerns, attending Utah football games with his family, watching the Utah Jazz, feeding his birds, hosting dinners, playing games with family and friends, making up songs and holding babies. Bob was a talented craftsman who built his own home and offered his talents willingly wherever he saw a need.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, and their four children; Tracie (Ed) Peterson, Mark (Charlotte) Campbell, Julie (Brett) Mower, and Darrin (Marcy) Campbell; their 23 grandchildren (and spouses); and 41 great-grandchildren (and counting); his brother, Don (Chris) Campbell and sister, Mary Williams. Preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronald, Jack, Glen and Allen.

We are deeply saddened to have lost him, but we are grateful that he is no longer suffering and in pain. We find peace and joy in knowing that he is reunited with all our beloved family and friends who have previously passed. We will miss him and his great example immensely.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 28 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29 at 11:00 AM with a viewing to be held from 9:30-10:30 AM at the LDS chapel on 915 E Peach Blossom Drive, Sandy, Utah.
