Ronald Ben Eckardt, age 89, died shortly before his 90th birthday on December 18, 2023, in Aberdeen, Washington. He was born on December 24, 1933, in Reinbek, Germany, to Heinz W. and Irmgard Hoffmann Eckardt. Ronald was a U.S. Marine and was exceedingly proud of his military service.
He is survived by his sister, Heidi Gardner, his daughter, Lorianne (Stuart) Haroldson and family, and his companion, Stella Callentine.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, December 28, at 12:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I am sorry for your loss. I was with Ron the day he died and was able to hold his hand and whisper in his ear that he was not alone. I know he heard me. I enjoyed chatting with him at church and online with emails back and forth.
