    Ronald Lester Jackman, age 93, passed away on Friday, October 29,2021. Ron was born September 10, 1928 to Lester A. and Florence Jackman in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School in 1946. Ron married Tharry Bowman in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 30, 1953. They were married for 51 years before her passing. They had four children. He was a carpet installer for Granite Furniture for over 40 years.
    Ron loved fly fishing and tying his own flies so he could head up to Mirror Lake or Strawberry Reservoir to try them out., He also enjoyed golfing, pheasant hunting and most sports. He trained and competed with many German Shorthaired Pointers in field trials, including winning a National AKC Championship with his dog, Stretch.
    Ron is survived by his brother LaMar (Tess) Jackman, daughters Shelly (Blair) Davis and Ronda Landes, 7 grandchildren, Natalie (Jimmy) Dimmick, Kristi (Greg) Maynes, Jessie Landes, Alicia (Seth) Christensen, Jill (Shane) Jones, Andrew Davis, and Riley Jackman. Also 11 great-grandchildren, Ben and Emma Christensen, Kaden, Mackenzie, and Corbin Maynes, William, Eliza, Charles and Thomas Jones, and Addison and Trevor Dimmick. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons Gerald Jackman (infant), and Ronald Lynn Jackman.
    The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Wentworth of Draper Memory Care and Renew Hospice for their sweet care of Ron during his stay there these last two months.
    A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, November 3, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E 1300 S. Salt Lake City followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service.
