1942 ~ 2025
Rosalyn Carol Lupus, 83, of Sandy, Utah, passed away on July 17, 2025—her 83rd birthday—surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with dementia. She was born on July 17, 1942, in Price, Utah, to Rudolph (Rudy) Rebol and Mary (Vieta) Rebol.
Carol graduated from Carbon High School at just 16 years old and went on to attend Carbon Junior College, later earning her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Utah. While attending the U, Carol went on a couple’s blind date—but rather than falling for her own date, she fell for the other man at the table, “Stormy” Lupus. He became the love of her life. The two were married on June 6, 1964, at a Catholic church in Helper, Utah.
Carol began her career as a third-grade teacher and soon after started her family. Her first child, Tanya Ann Lupus, was tragically stillborn in December 1968 due to toxemia. Two years later, Carol gave birth to Jeffrey David Lupus, followed by Jason Anthony Lupus two and a half years later.
Carol lived life with energy and joy. In winter, she could be found skiing the slopes of Alta and Deer Valley with Stormy and friends, often toasting the day with a shot of tequila or peppermint schnapps. She escaped the cold with sunny getaways to Hawaii and the Caribbean, where she worked on her tan and enjoyed scuba diving. Summers brought golf games, aquacise at Alta Canyon Sports Center, hikes in the Utah mountains, and cherished time aboard the family boat, the Stormy C, on Lake Powell. No matter the season, Carol was dedicated to fitness and could always be found at the gym.
Carol was also a dedicated volunteer, generously giving her time to organizations such as the National Charity League, Ladies of Carbonite, Utah Ski Archives J. Willard Marriot Library, Alta View Hospital, Blessed Sacrament, the Utah Food Bank, and multiple homeless shelters. One of her proudest moments was serving as a chauffeur and tour guide during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
Known for her love of entertaining, Carol hosted unforgettable gatherings where friends, family, and neighbors enjoyed great food, flowing wine, and warm hospitality. She was incredibly proud of her four grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them, always encouraging their dreams and celebrating their successes.
Carol is survived by her sons, Jeff Lupus and Jason Lupus (Noelle Lupus); her sister, Jona Jimeno (Willie Jimeno); and her grandchildren, Derek Lupus, Brandon Lupus (Madi Lupus), Venice Lupus, and Kai Lupus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Mary Rebol; her daughter, Tanya Ann Lupus; and her beloved husband, Stormy Lupus.
Carol was a beautiful soul—a devoted mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1910 Dimple Dell Rd. (approx. 1950 East), Sandy, UT 84092, followed by a celebration of life from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Greenhouse at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association donorservices.alz.org or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research give.michaeljfox.org.

As a classmate and friend I would like her family to know that she was a special friend and leader on all of our class reunions. No one worked harder nor cared more and she will be truly missed.

Carol’s smile and friendly presence left an impact on all of us at Alta. Thank you for all your years of dedicated service and support to Alta Canyon Sports Center.
To the Lupus family, we send our love. We remember the years of travel and fun with the boys playing soccer. The get togethers, all the laughter and the boys growing up. Carol, of course, was there to help organize and add to the fun. Our families of 4 even took a road trip through California after winning another championship. Good times....
You are all in our prayers..

Sorry to hear about your mom, bet there will be a great party with your dad.
Dear Family, we were so shocked to hear of her passing...on her birthday. (By the way, we're older than her but we're still alive!) The service was very nice and I'm glad we were able to watch it online. At 86 we don't travel much anymore and we live in Mesquite, NV. We lived across the street from them for many years and spent a lot of time together. Many trips to Lake Powell, cruising, or just going to dinner. Whatever we did we had a great time. Her Christmas parties were always a highlight. We had a party once and she and Stormy sang and danced to our jukebox. They were having so much fun. Gary was a great help to both Stormy and Carol when he was struggling. He helped take care of Stormy and got him out of the house once in a while. Later on he became a great companion to Carol. I can't imagine what she would have done without him. We will miss you Carol. We had some great laughs together and I especially will miss our friendship and conversations. Rest well my friend and we'll see you soon.
Our deepest sympathies.
