Roselyn "Dolly" Hekker, family matriarch, quietly passed away surrounded by family on Christmas evening 2023.

Dolly was born in NYC on December 29, 1925 to Robert and Rose Schambach, and was raised in South Orange, NJ. She was one of nine children. Growing up, Dolly was involved in dance and was constantly on the go as she enjoyed playing all sports.

In 1946, Dolly graduated from Lasell Jr. College in Auburndale, MA. Later that year, Dolly married Henry whom she had known since the age of 14. They met at the North End Beach Club in Spring Lake, NJ where each family summered. They had a wonderful life together raising six children. Together Dolly and Henry enjoyed bowling, camping, and hosting many family gatherings on their back deck.

Dolly was a highly successful realtor in NJ in the 1960s-70s. She attained a place in the Million Dollar Sales Club several years in a row. Dolly enjoyed playing bridge with friends throughout her life. She also liked doing ceramics, antiquing, and spending lots of time with her grandchildren.

Dolly is survived by children Henry (Janice, deceased), Bob (Joy), Ellen (Willie, deceased) Jackson, Barbara (Ken) Gondor, Dick (Stephanie, deceased), daughter-in-law Angela Hekker, and 55 grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren.

Dolly is preceded in death by her husband Henry, daughter Rosemary (Byron) Nelson, her parents, and her eight siblings and their spouses.

Friends are invited to greet her family during a viewing on Wednesday, January 3rd from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A vigil and recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 8:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 4th at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Interment to follow services at Sandy City Cemetery, 700 East 9000 South, Sandy.
