Our beloved matriarch Rosemary Allen, lovingly known as Rosie, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on March 18th, 2026 at the age of 74 in Murray, Utah, after a valiant 19 day fight in the CICU. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Rosemary was born December 1st 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward Allen and Fay Royce Allen. She was one of 7 children. She was known for many wonderful qualities, including her strong work ethic, positive outlook, warmth, kindness, and determination. She worked hard for many years, most of which were spent at Albertsons and later with the Salt Lake City School District.

Rosie lived a life centered on love, family, and quiet strength. She endured profound loss with the tragic passing of two of her children, Alicia and Anthony, whom she cherished. A loss she carried with her always while continuing to love and care for others with strength and grace. She found her greatest purpose in caring for those around her and creating a place where everyone felt they belonged.

Rosie was the heart and soul of her family that she poured everything she had into. Her home was a place of refuge for many. If you needed a meal, a place to stay, or simply to feel cared for, her door was always open. Many knew that “Rosie’s house” meant acceptance. She had a gift for making people feel seen and valued just as they were.

She was an incredible cook who showed her love through food, always asking if you had eaten and making sure no one left her home hungry. Her generosity, kindness, and nurturing spirit touched countless lives.

Rosie will be remembered for her selflessness, resilience, dedication, perseverance, courage, generosity, her open heart, and the way she loved so deeply and purely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many people who were fortunate enough to experience her unconditional love and kindness.

She is survived by her husband Mario; daughters, Angela, Ashley (Christopher), eight beautiful granddaughters, Isabella, Elayna, Rosalynd, Leah, Abagail, Evelyn, Lilly, Sophia and great granddaughter, her little peanut, Penelope. Sisters; Bonnie and Sharon and brother Rodney. She was also reunited later in life with a son, Scott, and had the opportunity to meet his beautiful children, Mercedes, Stefan, Shelby and Sierra.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Fay; her sister, Sandy; her brothers, Edward and Ricky; and her two beloved and precious children, daughter Alicia Marie and son Anthony, whom she loved and missed so deeply. They are together once again.

Join us in remembering Rosemary, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 3901 West 2925 South West Valley City, UT 84120.

I’m sending condolences from this part of the family. We are sorry for your loss. Rosie was such a beautiful spirit. She truly did love and care for everyone, especially family. Her heart was so pure and full of love and warmth. I hope you cherish the amazing memories forever. May God’s blessings, love and strength be poured upon you as you pass through this difficult time. Love, from the (Rodney) Allen part of the family.

Hi! I worked with Rosemary at Cascades for over a year and let me tell you, Rosemary was my favorite resident I ever got the chance to care for. Rosemary cared so genuinely for everyone working at cascades and always made such an effort to make conversation and a relationship with her caregivers. I feel very blessed to have been able to care for Rosemary and make sure she felt loved. She was an amazing woman and I feel very grateful to hold her in my heart.

Dear Angie, Ashley and Scott, I’m so deeply saddened for the loss of your mom Rosemary "Peanut" Allen, our deepest condolences go out to each and everyone of you and all of your families, she was such an incredible person with a big heart and beautiful soul, I have so many great memories of Aunt Rosie, so many, I am going to truly miss her. She struggled and suffered the last few years of her life, and a lifetime with the loss of her two children at such a young age was so devastating and heartbreaking that most people would have broke most. She was a fighter all the way to the end, tough as nails and would not give up, that is truly admirable and such an inspiration for us all, what a fight she gave.

Aunt Rosie was so strong and resilient, she fought through the toughest of tough times, trust me, they were tough times, she and Mario bonded together and built a home and had two beautiful daughters Angie and Ashley, she helped raised them and so many Grandchildren to the best of her abilities with so much love that she could give, she truly loved her family more than anything in this world and wanted nothing but the best for you all, Aunt Rosie I hope you are now out of pain and heartbreak and have reunited with your beautiful angels Alicia Marie and Anthony, I know they were right there waiting at heaven's gate with their beautiful smiles and loving arms to take you home to your final resting place, I would have given anything just to see your faces at that moment, we are all going to miss you and your fun spunky personality,

Dearest Aunt Rosie, we all loved you very much and until we meet and see each other again - Rest In Paradise. God Bless You.

Love,

Lonny, Crystal, Azaria and Indieya.

Dear Uncle Mario, Ashley, Angie, and all of Aunt Rosey’s grandchildren,

I’ve been thinking about all of you and just wanted to say how sorry I am for the loss that you have suffered.

Aunt Rosey really meant a lot to me. She was kind, gentle, and loving. She made everyone feel special. It was always so nice to spend time with her. I only wish I had done it more often. But because I was able to spend what little time I had with her, I now have many good memories that I’ll always cherish.

I’ve always admired how she kept going through all the difficulties and tragedies of her life, but what amazes me is that she never stopped caring about the people around her. That’s the hallmark of someone truly special.

She loved you all so much and was so proud of you, and I know she still is. I’m sure she’s keeping an eye on you all, so keep making her proud.

I love you all, and I pray that God’s blessing be upon you during these difficult days to come.
You’re all in my thoughts and prayers.

With love,
Sammy
