Our beloved son, brother, father, papa and friend left us unexpectedly on October 23rd , 2024 at the age of 75. He was a gentle giant and has left us wondering how we will ever navigate life without him.
Roy was born on April 3rd , 1949 to Karl and Margaret Goff in Bingham, UT. He married Christine Hoff in 1971, and later divorced but remained friends. Together they had their only daughter, Heather Kristen, who he made the center of his universe. She was his sunshine, and he was hers. Roy treated his son-in-law, Gabriel, like he was his own, and absolutely adored their three children, Adison, Noah and Zane, who he loved more than life itself.
Roy was a family centered man, who loved unconditionally. He took care of his parents and siblings most of his life without hesitation and had proven himself to be everyone’s
rock. He was extremely generous, stood up for what he felt was right and taught so many people lessons of patience and love. He was an extremely hard worker and retired after working for the Granite School District after 41 years.
He loved the mountains and always said he couldn’t imagine life without them. He was an avid hunter and fisherman (much to his daughter’s dismay) and loved to listen to music LOUD, especially the Beatles. He passed his love of music onto his daughter and grandkids, which will always remain amongst one of their fondest memories of him. Roy was quiet, and funny. Unexpected qualities, but the most chill guy with the best sense of humor. He called his daughter his ‘Silly Rabbit’, and she will never forget the gifts of love he gave her. There is a special relationship between a father and daughter, and Heather could not have asked for a better one than him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Margaret, and siblings, David, Gary and Valerie, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his only daughter, Heather
(Gabriel), and grandchildren, Adison (JP), Noah and Zane.
We will be hosting a visitation on Friday, November 1st , 2024 from 1pm – 2pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092, followed by a graveside service. Roy’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life with Family Visitation the same day from 4pm – 6pm at the Hampton Inn and Suites – 3923 W Center Park Dr., West Jordan, UT 84084.
Love you to the sky, poke a hole.

We are sad about Roys passing. Our minds are full of memories from Disneyland and the corn dogs to Jason and Gabes story of helping Roy get a "deer" down from the mountain. Jason and I running into him at Virg's one night and him telling us how much he missed us
We then remembered how fun it was to go to the Griffith's party's and stay late into the night, listening to Roy's stories, laughing at his eating habits and Heather just dying and yelling "oh my God dad!" as we all would laugh. He was such a fun guy! He was a gentle giant as said above. Roy, thanks for being a part of our lives for so many years.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was so much fun.
I thought of Roy today and was sad to see he had passed away as I searched to connect with him to see how he was doing. I worked with him at the Granite School District. Roy had a keen sense of humour and we had many a good laugh. I had lost track of him as I left the School District about 40 years ago. It sounds like he lived a good life and that is all you can ask.
