Roy Kendall Ward

1960 ~ 2023

Roy Kendall Ward (age 63) passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023 at a Salt Lake City nursing home after a long battle with several health issues.  He was born in Nevada in July of 1960 to Bill Kyle Ward and Betty Ann Allen Ward.  He was the fourth of five sons, who kept their parents quite busy.  The family moved to Sandy, Utah in 1973, where he made many friends and attended Hillcrest High School, excelling in academics, debate, music, and other activities.  He was an Eagle Scout and loved the outdoors.  He had a great sense of humor.  He took university courses to improve himself and was a deep and sincere thinker, always striving for improvement.

Ken served a mission in South America for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He also served in his high priest group and various other capacities.  He was a devoted and responsible family man.  Ken enjoyed studying and practicing photography and took pictures at many weddings, mostly in the Salt Lake Valley.

Ken is survived by three brothers, Kelly (Diane), Randy (Robin), and Russ; and a sister-in-law, Angie.  He cherished his relationships with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Rick.  We are grateful he can be with these loved ones . . . and rest.

Guestbook/Condolences

Knowing Kenny was such an honor. His brother Rick and I were very good, close friends. Kenny's parents were among the best and always treated me as one of their own. What a great family.

Kenny was just a real great guy. I was privileged to have him as a close friend in high school. He always seemed to have a wry smile and a quiet but fun way about him. It's not a stretch to say that hanging out with Ken and his twin brother Randy back then made me a better person. Rest in peace Kenny.
