Spence passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family on October 11, 2017 in SLC, UT. He was born on July 10, 1933 to Louis L. and Kathryn Spencer Smith. He is survived by his daughter Kim, (John) Allen, son Louis (Jenny) Smith. Grandchildren Josh (Jennifer) Allen, Jenny (Ben) Hernandez, Carlos Smith and Gabe Smith. Great-Grandchildren Mckenzie, Brooklyn, Lanie and Jax. Brother Paul (Cheryl) Smith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Deonne of 59 years, Sister Carol (Tom) Lord and an infant son.
He attended East High School and graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1957 with a degree in architecture.
His varied Architectural career of 55 years started with 20 years at Dean L. Gustavson Associates SLC, UT; 20 years with Park Meadows and Bridge Group Architects in Park City, Utah. He also spent 15 years in semi-retirement in Lake Havasu, AZ. In honoring his wishes no formal services will be held. Instead he asked you to raise your glass and celebrate his life and yours.
