Rudy Curry

1958 ~ 2023

Rudy Curry peacefully passed away on October 16, 2023, in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born on April 1, 1958, in Roosevelt, UT to Richard H. Curry Sr. and Refilia Smith.

Our dad was a strong believer in our native American culture. He took pride in Sun dancing and sweat lodge ceremonies with his brothers on behalf of all his relatives.

He loved going on adventures and meeting new people along the way. He loved music and would have his oldies playing everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his family and watching the Utah Jazz play.

He is survived by his lifetime partner Rebecca M. Hanway; siblings Richard Curry Jr., Royce (Margaret) Curry, Rayma Curry, Reggie Curry, Ryan Curry, Rory Curry, and Ronnie Curry; children Gale Sr. (Amanda) Curry, Nicole (Gabriel) Urbina, Rudy (Savina) Sanchez, Ricky J. Sanchez Sr. and Cecilia Marie (Derek) Holiday; stepchildren Lillian Fox, Bobby M. Fox and Monty Fox; 48 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Oran and Della Curry; parents Refilia Smith and Richard H Curry Sr.; siblings Baby Raymond D. Curry, Regina Livingston Curry, and Ralph Curry.

A viewing will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary (260 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT). All are welcome.
