Russell Joseph Garcia was born March 7th, 1975, in Salt Lake City, UT. He passed away on April 9, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident on April 7 in Draper, Utah. Russ was the son of Frank Joseph Garcia and Susan Kay Skinner Garcia. Russ is survived by his father Frank Garcia, his wife Keri Garcia, sons Keenan Garcia and Anthony Shoenfeld, stepchildren Sevrin Carlin, Taevia Carlin, and Havik Carlin, brother Eric Garcia (Cristylyn), sisters Gina Stong (Seth) and Elisa Garcia (Kyle Chadwick), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Russ’s parents moved to West Jordan early in his life where he met many lifelong friends growing up in Qquirrh Shadows. Growing up Russ loved baseball and skateboarding. He could always be counted on to back you up if you got in a tough spot. If Russ was not hanging out at a friend’s house or having the crowd at his house, he could be found at his dad’s shop prepping cars for paint. Russ inherited his dad’s creativity and followed him in the paint business. For the last ten years he was employed as the lead painter at Auto Menders.

Russ’s light of his life was his son Keenan. He was quick to brag about him to anyone that knew him. He was especially proud that he was graduating from Copper Hills High School this spring.

Russ’s Hobbies included golfing, fishing, snowboarding riding his motorcycle, and listening to music. Russ had an eclectic taste in music that was shared with his siblings. The shared passion resulted in many nights spent going to concerts.

Russ’s passion was riding his motorcycle and he supported many causes in the community. He especially proud of his membership in Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA.) In the biker community (his second family), he went by the road name ‘Taz.’ He is very loved, respected, and will be terribly missed by all who rode with him.

Russ loved to joke and hang out with his friends. He was always quick to tease his friends. It is hard to find a picture of him where he is not making a face or flipping off the camera.

Russ was loved by about everyone he associated with. We are devasted by his untimely loss, a spot in our hearts will forever remain empty.
Russ was preceded in death by his mom, Susan, and 3 close friends, Greg Benson, David Okusi, and Robert Moose.

A wake will be held in his honor on Friday April 22 from 6 – 9:30 pm at the Woods on ninth. (6775 S 900 E Midvale, UT) A celebration of life will be held at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton on April 23 from 12-2 with a service from 1:30 – 2 pm. After the service, the family will be escorted to Herriman Cemetery for a short service at his mom’s grave. The address is 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton UT. In lieu of flowers family members are asking for contributions to be made to support his son Keenan. Donations can be made using Venmo @Russell-Taz-Garcia. 100% of the contributions will go to Keenan’s Trust Fund.
