Charlotte Rossiter Evans

1937 ~ 2017

Charlotte Christine Rossiter Evans passed away peacefully June 7, 2017. She was born June 14, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Christine Peterson and Bryant Baddley Rossiter. Charlotte graduated from South High School. While a nursing student at the University of Utah, she met Carvel Haslam Evans, a medical student. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 18, 1958.

When Charlotte earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing, and Carvel completed his residency, they packed up their family and moved to Germany for four years. She and Carvel enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the Middle East. In each place they visited, she collected dolls dressed in native costumes. After Carvel's military service, they settled in SLC.

Charlotte loved Broadway musicals and plays, and often broke into song as she went through her day. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and loved her calling as a Nursery leader. She had a special place in her heart for children. Mom supported her kids and grandkids and was their biggest fan. When her children were older, she completed a rigorous refresher course to return to nursing. She worked at Cottonwood Hospital, especially enjoying her time on the Maternity Unit.

Charlotte is survived by her children Debbie Breivik, Lisa (Mark) Meredith, Linda Fiedel, Suzanne (Richard) Jensen, and Richard (Emily); her brother, Bryant W. Rossiter; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carvel; sister, Marilyn Kimball; son-in-law, Ron Breivik; and grandson, Thomas Breivik.

The family would like to thank the staff at Silverado and Community Nursing Services Hospice, particularly her nurse, Susan.
