Patricia Dwan Thompson

1933 ~ 2014

Patricia Maureen Dwan Thompson passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 27, 2014 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She had just turned 80. Born November 27, 1933 in Hammond, Indiana to John Joseph and Francis Marie Dwan, she married Gerald Leslie Thompson on May 13, 1952; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She attended South High School and the University of Utah. Patricia spent her life in service, working in the family business alongside her husband and sons. She also served in and loved many Church callings. Paddy loved traveling the world with Gerald and their friends. She also enjoyed her book clubs, study groups, swimming, tennis, knitting, crocheting and sewing; she was an avid Ute fan and she loved Neil Diamond. She enjoyed boating at Lake Powell, summers in Sun Valley, visits to St. George and every activity that involved her family. She is an inspiration to her Children and Grandchildren. Patricia was the Mother of two Sons and one Daughter. She is survived by her loving Husband Gerald, her Brother, John Dwan, her Sister-in-Law, Dorothy Christison, her Sons, Guy (Elaine) and Gary (Karen), and her Daughter, Dwan Christensen (Brent). She is also survived by her 8 Grandchildren, her 8 Great-Grandchildren and by her Nieces and Nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her Father, John Joseph Dwan and her Parents, Rudy A. and Francis M. Gentner. Funeral Services begin Saturday February 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cottonwood 12th Ward Chapel on 1750 Spring Lane, with a viewing prior to the services from 10-10:30 a.m. There will also be a viewing at Larkin Sunset Mortuary on 2350 East 1300 South, Friday Evening January 31, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawns.
