Helen Janean Call Jolley

1935 ~ 2016

Janean passed away peacefully from mortality on May 7, 2016, in Bountiful, Utah, from the arms of her loving children into the welcoming arms of her sweetheart Hack. She was born in Afton, Wyoming to Lathair H. and Ree Bruce Call on May 9, 1935, the oldest of four children. Janean spent most of her childhood in Afton and graduated from Star Valley High School. She loved attending her class reunions and remained close to many of her classmates.

She attended Utah State University, where she fell in love with her eternal companion John Haskell Jolley and they were married in the Logan Temple on June 17, 1955. Janean and Hack resided in Lovell, Wyoming until moving to Bountiful, Utah in 2001.

Janean's pride and joy was her family and she enjoyed attending as many family functions and activities as her schedule would allow. She spent quality time with her children, teaching them lessons of life, involvement, service, generosity, and hard work. She accepted and loved each family member, including numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, sons and daughters-in-law.

Janean was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the Gospel and had a strong testimony of the Savior. A born leader, she served in myriad Church assignments with dedication, excitement, innovation, and energy, both in Wyoming and Utah.

She was a loyal friend, an avid reader and intellectual. She was vivacious, had a great sense of humor, made every activity fun, and enjoyed "hamming it up". She maintained a lovely home and yard and was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed golfing, skiing, camping, and boating with her family. She was a great hostess, and will be remembered for her elegance and class. She loved to travel the world, especially with friends and family.

Janean served her community with great vigor her entire life. Her special love was for the General Federation of Women's Clubs, where she served as club President in Lovell and Murray, Wyoming State President, Western States President, International Officer, and at the International Headquarters in Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers, Janean would be honored by donations to the volunteer projects of the GFWC.

Janean will be greatly missed! She is survived by her daughter Jeri Jolley of Salt Lake City, son Scott (Cori) Jolley of Draper, daughter Jan (Chris) Cozzens of North Salt Lake, "adopted" daughter Clare Hunter, brother Bruce (Charlotte) Call of Salt Lake City, 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Kathy Starbuck and Sherry Brown, and daughter-in-law Penne Jolley.

A celebration of Janean's life will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the North Salt Lake Foothill Ward, 4275 Bountiful Boulevard, Bountiful, UT. Friends may visit from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Ward prior to the services. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16, at the Lovell Wyoming cemetery.
