Durant C. Black

1928 ~ 2016

Durant Cox Black passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016. Durant was born May 30, 1928 to Justin A. and Blanche Cox Black in Blanding, Utah. Durant served an LDS mission in the Northwestern States Mission and served two years as an instructor in the army at Fort Ord, California. He earned an MBA at the University of Utah. For some years, he was employed in the hospitality industry. For more than 30 years he was a professor at Salt Lake Community College in the School of Business.

Durant married Elaine Ehlers in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 11, 1953. They are the parents of seven children: Joel, Karen, Janae, Jed, Kort, Kristen, and Lars. They have 39 grandchildren and 21 great grand-children.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd at 12:00 in the Garden Heights north Ward Chapel at 2220 East Fisher Lane in Salt Lake City.
