Russell Allen McCloud

1933 ~ 2014

Russell Allen McCloud, 81, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born August 7, 1933 in Putnam Co. Indiana to Dorothy and Harold McCloud, the 2nd child of seven.

Russell attended schools in Roachdell and Indianapolis, Indiana. He served in the United States Army having been trained as a Medical Aidman and was assigned to Germany.

He worked for the Indianapolis Power and Light for 40 years. He was esteemed by his coworkers who he worked with as their manager. As a side business to his career, he ran his own electrician service, McCloud and Sons Electricians in Indiana. After moving to Salt Lake, he offered his assistance as Security for the City Library, to Mobile Watch and as a Ride Along with the Salt Lake City Police.

On January 2, 1995 he married Carol Ann Neddoff in Las Vegas, Nevada. A year later their marriage was solemnized in the Las Vegas LDS Temple. Russell enjoyed serving in the temple. With Carol, they served as Temple Patrons for four years.

Russell was a member of the NRA and American Legion. He loved to camp, hunt and fish. He was known as the "Gentle Giant".

He is survived by his wife Carol. Four children, Pamela Bower, Lorretta Faith, Rusty McCloud and Dennis James McCloud. His siblings, Harry McCloud, Franklin McCloud and Rosy Stonebreaker. Many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, James, Ann and Robert and his previous wife of twenty two years, Mary Kay.

A service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Funeral Home (2350 E. 1300 S. Salt Lake City, UT) The family will meet with friends prior to services for an hour. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
