Charlotte Elaine Johnson Sharp

1933 ~ 2014

Charlotte Elaine Johnson Sharp, 81, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, compassionate friend and loving wife of Hal Turner Sharp, returned to her Father in Heaven in peace and joy on October 1, 2014. Elaine was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Morris C. and Leah G. Johnson. Elaine has three brothers, Dale (Beverly), Gordon (Veedrienne) and Gaylen (Alaire). Elaine graduated from East High School and the University of Utah with an elementary education degree. She married her sweetheart, Hal, in 1955 and together they raised seven children, Ann (Steven) Tyler, Elizabeth (Steven) Boulay, Nathan (Kimberly), David (Jeanie), Karen, Camille Camacho (Hallard Weber) and Hugh (Anika). They have 20 grandchildren and four, almost five, great grandchildren. Elaine and Hal have been married for 59 years. Elaine is preceded in death by her brother, Gaylen and grandson, Colby.

Elaine took pride in being a mother and homemaker and her children were blessed as she taught and nurtured them. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and touched many lives in her numerous capacities. She and Hal served a music mission in Guatemala. Elaine was a gifted musician, she shared her talents as she taught piano lessons and played the piano and organ in church for many years. She and Hal have joyfully served in the Salt Lake Temple for 14 years. She had an unshakable testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and strove to emulate Him as she served and loved everyone unconditionally- friend, family or stranger.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Garden Park Ward, 1150 Yale Avenue, Salt Lake City. Viewings will be held on Sunday, October 5, from7:00-9:00 pm and Monday, October 6, from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Ward. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
