Obituary

In the evening of September 29, 2026 our mother, Sadie(Kay) Riche passed peacefully at home in the care of her loving daughter(Michele} and grandson(David).

Born in the fall on the morning of October 28th 1946, to some amazing parents George(Bus) and Helen Manwaring. She enjoyed her childhood growing up in the Salt lake area with older sisters Jeanette Peterson(deceased) and Connie Wright. After graduating from West High she fell in love and wed Michael Riche which led to her 2 children Michele, and Michael. Unfortunately the marriage did not last.

She forged ahead on her own and soon after she started her career at the DMV. Where she worked until retirement. In her younger years as a mother, she had lots of friends that she would bowl with. Thursday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa before bowling was one of our favorite occasions. She loved watching football on Sunday (especially the Steelers)and enjoyed many camping adventures with friends and family. She was a classic movie aficionado that traveled with the TCM cruise line and had friends and pen pals she thought of often.

She was a great mother who always put our needs ahead of her own. She had a great work ethic, which she passed on to us as well as her strong morals. She was never overly affectionate with us but we knew she loved us greatly as we did her.

If you would like to say goodbye we will be having a small viewing at Larkin Mortuary,260 E South Temple, on Wednesday, October 7th at 11a.m. followed by a graveside service at 12:00 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, Utah

She was so much like grandpa. Did not show emotion a lot, but like you said she always put family first. I'm first memory of her I was really mad at her, she helped my mom cut my long unruly hair. I was really ticked off. But to be honest, I still wear that hair style today. So I guess she knew what she was doing. She also thought I was completely ridiculous, she would shake her head and say good grief at me all the time but it was always followed up with her contagious laugh and I knew she loved me.
