Sally Muschlitz Barthold

1953 ~ 2022

“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts”

Sally Eileen Muschlitz Barthold, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, with her family by her side.

Sally was born July 13, 1953, the youngest child and only daughter of Elwood and Evelyn Muschlitz. She grew up in Moorestown with her brother Ronald, attended Northampton High School, and was an alumnus of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Sally taught at Bushkill Elementary in the Nazareth Area School District for 38 years before retiring in 2013.

Sally married Reid Barthold on December 29, 1973, and they lived in Bushkill Township where they raised two sons, Cale and Garret. Sally greatly loved her family and spending time with them. She delighted in her two young grandsons, Ethan and Austin, and made many trips out to Utah to visit them. Sally enjoyed vacationing at Disney, the company of her Westies, and all things Christmas.

Sally is survived by her husband of 49 years, Reid; sons, Cale and Garret; daughter-in-law, Heather, and grandsons, Ethan and Austin, who will all miss her tremendously.

Cremation services will take place in Utah, and a memorial will be held at home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania (information forthcoming).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

I am devastated and saddened by the news of Sally's passing. I am also saddened that we did not stay in touch after are kids were born. We were best friends all through Junior & Senior High, we had so many good times together and we were always sleeping over at each other's house. She was a wonderful friend who I will never forget. My sincere condolences to Reid and family. May we all meet again some day in heaven!

I remember Mrs. Barthold from school. She was my kindergarten teacher in 2009. She was such a sweet woman and was one of my favorite teachers to date. She will be dearly missed by so many.
