Sarah A. Rowlette, age 73, passed away on June 17, 2021 after her battle with metastatic cancer. Sarah was born on February 6, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Ut, the second child and only daughter to Gladys I. Redd and Willie D. Hesleph. Sarah was an amazing mother and grandmother, a devoted church member, and a loving and loyal friend. Her friends and family would describe her as witty, funny, charismatic, and always ready to make you crack a smile, and children would describe her as ‘the best mom ever’.

Sarah loved to cook and guarded her recipes faithfully. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. Sarah loved to travel and was always ready to pack her bags and fly anywhere. After her retirement, she started volunteering weekly at Calvary Baptist Church and continued to serve on the Usher Board. Sarah was a faithful and long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, just as her parents before her, she believed in a strong foundation for her family in God and maintained that until the end of her days. Sarah’s biggest joy was her children and grandchildren, they were the light of her life. She loved them dearly and always had a smile on her face whenever she spoke about them. Just as she was the light of theirs, they love her and will miss her immensely.

Sarah is survived by her son, Vernon K. Rowlette and his wife, Angela Rowlette (Las Vegas, NV); and her daughter Nefertiti L. Rowlette (Pyeongtaek, SK). Her grandchildren, Tatiana Reese and her husband Austin Reese (Mesquite, Ut); Antar Rowlette; and Tyler Rowlette (Las Vegas, NV). And her great-grandchildren, Caiden Reese and Stone Reese (Mesquite, UT). She is also survived by her five brothers, Wayne Hesleph, Walter Hesleph, Jackie Hesleph, Kevin Hesleph, and Brian Hesleph of Salt Lake City, UT. Sarah was also loved and survived by her amazing sisters (in law) and her nieces and nephews, whom she also cherished. The Hesleph/Rowlette family is a very close, loving, and enduring family, we will not be the same without her.

Sarah is preceded in death by her youngest son, Antar T. Rowlette and her parents, Gladys I. Redd and Willie D. Hesleph.

Services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84111. Friends and family can attend the services virtually via Zoom. Our Dearest Sister Sarah,

You showed us what love is. Your love for your family, favorite hobbies and spending time with friends will be forever etched in our memories. Your love will live forever. The are memories that will shine through the sorrow. During our monthly outing's, we ate the same restaurant Market Street Grill. Both determine to pay the Early Bird Special price. Which we got a kick out of. You always shared your meals with me although I had my own.

I am so grateful that we served on the Usher Board together. I'm going to miss you. I love you so very mush! I can hear you laughing now and saying call me later but don't call me before 7:00 a.m. 💔

To the family,

My heart and prayers go out to you. I am truly sorry Sarah had to go home so soon but I know God has something for her to do and he needed her to come home. I will truly miss her sitting at the front desk on Sunday morning and ushering with her at church. I will remember the Girl's Night Out, Sarah, Debra, Lena and I had and how much fun we had and the laughs. People would look at us and comment on how much fun we were having. Life is not promised to any of us so we all need to live it to the max and Sarah did just that, she had an amazing spirit. May God bless you all and give you peace.

Dear family, my heart is absolutely broken. Sarah was such a special part of so many lives including mine. Those of us left on this side of the kingdom, will find our fight that much harder as her light here is extinguished. Stay strong Hesleph and Rowlette family we will see our loved ones again. God our Father has declared it and His word will bring it to pass. I love you all.
