Christina Dee Murray Nygren

1988 ~ 2015

Our precious "Honey" passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on a beautiful bright Sunday morning. After receiving a non-curable cancer diagnosis in April of 2013 she put her faith in our Heavenly Father's plan and moved forward with a determination to live life to the fullest. Many sweet blessings came into her life as she served and lifted all that knew her. She filled her days with things most important to her ‚ family, near and far, and her faith. Christina was a constant ray of sunshine and an example of Faith, Hope, and Charity, knowing that she is a Daughter of God.

Her parents rejoiced when she was born and quickly recognized the noble spirit that she had. She grew up and attended schools in Riverton Utah. She was a perfect big sister showering love and kindness on her family and friends. As a child she worked hard to master musical gifts that she was blessed with. After graduating from Riverton High School in 2006 she attended Brigham Young University, graduating Cum Laude in April 2010 in elementary education with a minor in music. While at BYU she met an amazing young man whom she fell in love with. Christina and Alan Christopher Nygren were married for time and all eternity in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on May 29th, 2009. After graduation Christina taught 6th grade at Southland Elementary and shared her talents as a gifted teacher with her wonderful students. In December of 2010 she and Alan welcomed their beautiful son Benson Alan Nygren into their home and hearts. She loved being a mother and taught and nurtured Benson in all the ways of a tender parent. She was completely devoted to her Alan and Benson. The love shared between them has been an endless source of inspiration to all that associated with their family. Christina was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of our Heavenly Father's plan and love of our Savior was powerful. She was serving as the Primary Chorister in her Ward at the time of her passing, a calling she dearly loved.

Christina leaves behind not only a legacy of love and faith but also many who love her. She is survived by her husband Alan, who lovingly walked this journey with her, and her cherished son Benson. Sister Katherine, brothers Robert and Adam, and parents John and Amy Murray. In-laws, Fred and Carla Nygren, brother and sister in-laws, Adam and Kody, Amy and Matthew Clark, Alyse and Justin Luster, and Andrew and Brynn, as well as, her nieces and nephews, and extended family whom she adored.
