1960 ~ 2025
Scott Gordon Dahl (1960-2025) passed away on September 27th, 2025, after a long battle with health issues. He is at peace and no longer suffers.
Scott was a history buff. He loved reading and watching documentaries about our country’s history. He especially was knowledgeable about World War II and the Vietnam War. “Rock and Roll” history was his passion. Scott was an encyclopedia of facts and trivia when it came to his music. He spent many hours listening to “tunes (as he called them) and sharing details with anyone who would listen!
One of his favorite pastimes was watching football. He loved the Chicago Bears even when they were losing, which was most of the time. He seldom missed a game and passed this love onto his children. Another love he passed along was his devotion to the family pets. Scott loved cats, and the Dahl house always had two of them that lived long lives. He loved the dogs that found their way into the hearts of the family.
Scott was a family man. There was seldom a day that he didn’t tell his wife and children that he loved them. His happiest times were spent in their company. Though he wasn’t “churchy”, he was deeply spiritual. He loved his brother and sisters and extended family and kept them in his prayers. He was a loyal friend. Though many of his pals have preceded him in death, he was grateful for their friendships and often spoke of them. He missed being able to go socialize with his friends in the last few years due to his health.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Latrelle Dahl. He is survived by his wife, Machelle, and children Aubrey and Evan Dahl as well as his brother James Dahl (Carol), and sisters Sandra Dahl Weeks (Richard), Alison Dahl, and Wendy Dahl Smedshammer (David).
Services will be held Saturday, October 11th at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah) at 1:00 pm. For those unable to attend in person, the following Zoom link will be live at 2:00 pm: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87977263732

So sorry to hear of "Heavy Duty" as we called him passing. He was a great man and I loved working with him at the school district. He loved he kids and always talked about them especially his daughter. I am hoping that he is now pain-free and looking down on us from heaven. Sorry I didn't find out sooner and would have been there. May he rest in peace
