Shanna Smith

1980 ~ 2023

With heavy hearts we share the passing of our dear Shanna Leigh Smith who passed away on November 1, 2023 following a valiant fight with cancer. Shanna was born April 15, 1980 in San Gabriel, California to Ronald Allen Smith and Julia Ann Skidmore Smith.

Shanna was one of a kind! She had a personality that everyone loved and that made her a friend to many that crossed her path. Though there were many times in life where she was faced with challenges, she pushed though and made the most of each one turning many of them in to great accomplishments. Though there were many things in life she was proud of, her greatest accomplishment and biggest achievement was raising her incredible son Mikah as a single mother.

Shanna was always dedicated in everything she did. She was an invaluable team member at each of her jobs. She loved working at Mike Hale Acura and Nate Wade Subaru and made many friends there. Many of her coworkers simply loved working with her and looked up to her as an example in how she handled everything she faced, especially her battles with cancer and making sure Mikah was still taken care of though everything.

Shanna had many passions and hobbies in life. As a people person, she loved getting together with others, specifically family and friends, and being able to enjoy different activities. She found great joy in various vacations, hikes, swimming, most of which were spent with Mikah sharing their special bond with one another. She loved spending time with him and seeing him enjoy everything they did.

Shanna is survived by her son Mikah Smith, her mother Julia Walton and many friends and coworkers who loved her! She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald A. Smith.

An open house Celebration of Life for Shanna planned special by Mikah will be held from 1-5PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 4912 West Aspen Springs Drive in Riverton, Utah.

Though it’s hard to imagine our lives without Shanna, the family would like to express sincere appreciation to her former employers, Mike Hale Acura and Nate Wade Subaru, for their unwavering love, support and generosity to to Shanna and Mikah over the years and especially during her cancer battles! Many of them became her extended family.

Guestbook/Condolences

Shanna’s obituary I found at the top of the page when searching for my Shanna Smith from Texas
My heart breaks for you and her son Mikah
She will be alive in her son and you will be blessed
My daughter passed just before her son was taken by cesarean
He’s 16 today and just like his Mom
The first year is the worst
Praying for comfort
