1967 ~ 2026
Shannon McKee Sprenkle expressed her love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ through countless acts of service to family, friends, and acquaintances—inspiring boldness where there was hesitation, faith where there was fear, and worth where there was doubt.
She passed quickly on the evening of February 5th, of a pulmonary embolism after a protracted illness. She is survived by her husband, David Schlitters; her three siblings, Mark McKee (Myrrissa), Steve McKee (Jennie), and Meredith Turner (Tim); her four children, Trent Sprenkle (Dani), Tucker Sprenkle (Tiffani), Tanner Sprenkle (Calli), and Taytum Gordy (Randy); eighteen grandchildren; and her husband’s three children, John, Matthew, and William Schlitters. Shannon’s parents, Ronald Ray McKee and Patricia Louise Kibby, preceded her in death.
At her core was an iron resolve to serve God and return to Him someday, a quick and clever mind reflected in adaptability and a sparkling sense of humor, and true joy found in overcoming obstacles and challenges. Shannon was attentive to detail and intentful in her relationships, had timeless style in dress and demeanor, and a heart willing to give and receive unconditional love—which she secured in her Sealing with David.
Of her many varied works her most lasting will be through her children and grandchildren and what she created in the hearts and minds of others—legacy without end.
A memorial will be held Friday, February 20th at 11:00 am, at the LDS Chapel, 4021 W Shinnerock Dr., South Jordan, UT 84009.
