Sharon Irene Carpenter returned home on November 21, 2022, in West Jordan, Utah. She was born on October 11, 1952, and was given the most loving parents with hearts of gold, Alma William and Myrtle Irene Bricker. Sharon was born deaf and her disabilities made her life very challenging. She attended The Salt Lake School for the Deaf where she met her life long friend April. She also had spent much time with her friends Vicki and Sandra and had many fond memories with them. She was a big sister, she loved babies and became a mom. Due to her disabilities her choices lead her down an unforeseeable road and for 20 years her quality of life diminished. Her children are glad she is done fighting a long battle with her disabilities, cognitive state, pain, and suffering and has at last returned to her loving mother and father. If we are sure of anything we know that now she is in Grandma’s arms and hearing her sing “You Are My Sunshine”!

Sharon is survived by her five children, Holly Chambers (Ryan), Brandon Wheeldon (Courtney), Jason McKendrick (Kim), Melissa McKendrick, and Patrick Carpenter; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her two brothers, Mark and Al Bricker.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Alma and Irene and her dear friend April.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 5, at noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
