Shilton, Sharon Kay (Nee Greenhalgh, formerly Bergenthal) passed away peacefully Saturday, July 24, 2021, age 79, in Taylorsville, Utah. Beloved wife of Thomas (Tom) Shilton and the late Robert (Bob) Bergenthal. Loving mother of Shanna (Tom) Lystrup of St. George, UT, and Danny (Paula) Bergenthal of Draper, UT. Stepmother of Paul (Rachel) Shilton of Cottonwood Heights, UT and Hartley Shilton. Sister of the late Vicki Brimer and Ginger (Gary) Sutton of Milton, FL. Also loved by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Sharon was born August 14, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of John Greenhalgh and Virginia Eldredge Greenhalgh. While in high school, her family moved to southern California where she met Bob Bergenthal while working at U.S. Motors. They began their life together in 1961, living in Orange County, California and later moving to Oregon and Washington, while raising their two children. After Bob’s death, she married the second love of her life, Tom Shilton, in 2015, and resided in Riverton and Taylorsville, Utah. They have enjoyed six happy years together.

Sharon was a loving mother to her two children. She delighted in spending time with her family and in traveling. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings throughout her life. She especially liked playing the piano/organ, serving as a temple worker, and researching family history. She was truly loved by all she touched and will be greatly missed.
