Sharon Lee Eccles Roberts, a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandma, and great grandma, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 8, 2023, at her home in Layton, Utah. She was born on August 13, 1941, in Santa Monica, California, to Andrew Ferrald Eccles and Helen Rozalia McMurray Eccles.

As a young child, Sharon's family relocated to Rose Park, Utah, where she would spend the next four decades of her life as an active member of the community, raising her children. Sharon attended and graduated from West High School in 1959 and later pursued her education at Utah Technical College, where she obtained her LPN license in 1971.

For 35 years, Sharon dedicated herself to the field of healthcare, working at LDS Hospital. She began her career as an LPN and eventually transitioned into an administrative assistant role before retiring in 2002. Even after retirement, Sharon continued to give back to her community by volunteering at an elementary school, eventually becoming a staff member. In her later years, she found joy in volunteering at the West Jordan Senior Center.

A woman of faith, Sharon was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in various capacities throughout her life, but her favorite calling was serving as a temple worker in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Sharon had a deep love for genealogy work, spending countless hours researching her family history. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing games on her computer and indulging in her favorite TV show, Castle. Most importantly, Sharon loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She held two annual events close to her heart: the Eccles Family Reunion on July 4th and her cherished "Grandma Sharon Christmas Party."

Gardening was one of Sharon's passions, and she poured her heart into tending her beloved roses. She also shared her life with three dogs: Dolly, Nikki, and Queen Anne.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Helen, her sisters Verna and Barbara (Albert), her brother Grant (Saundra), and many other loved ones. She is survived by her daughter Tami (Doyle), son Jay (Molly), seven grandchildren and their spouses, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Fairfield Village and Inspiration Hospice for their exceptional love and care shown to Sharon during her final days.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 14, 2023, with a viewing at 10:00 am, followed by the services at 11:00 am. All services will be held at the LDS church building located at 6270 W. 7000 S. West Jordan, Utah, 84081.
