Sharon Marie Jensen

1938 ~ 2023

Our loving and beloved wife and mother, Sharon Marie Jensen, died suddenly on February 10, 2023. Sharon was born in Grand Junction, CO on February 15, 1938 to James Riley Coulson and Linnea Peterson Coulson. She grew up in Leadville CO, Garfield and Magna UT and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1957. She met the love of her life, Ellis R Jensen, and married him February 17, 1958.

Sharon was primarily a homemaker, who lavished her love and attention on her husband and children. She made cookies for breakfast (they had oatmeal in them) and made-up bedtime stories (we laughed until we fell off the bed). She always volunteered to be a room mother or den mother and had dinner on the table by 4:45 every night.

She was a kind woman, a steadfast friend, and determined money manager who could get a dollar’s worth from every dime.

Sharon is survived by her husband, daughter Shelly Jensen, grandchildren Jeremy (Jessica) Jensen, Shyanne (Jonathan) Cheng, and Joshua Fry, 2 great-grandchildren Emmett and Jerica Jensen, her brother James A (Arlene) Coulson, her best friend Joanne Leiser, and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her son David R Jensen.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on February 17, 2023, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10400 South), Sandy UT. Please dress warmly.

Ellis, Shelly, and Family- I was so saddened to learn of Sharon’s passing. She was such a kind, sweet person. We loved having your family as neighbors growing up on Jean Street. I know my parents thought very highly of Sharon. She will be greatly missed. Extending my heartfelt sympathy and love. Patti Perkins Hardle

I am really sad that my Aunt Sharon passed away. I wish I had spent more time with her and Uncle Ellis. I was at their wedding and I was 11 years old. I had never been to a wedding and my heart was pounding. I remember how beautiful she was and she had lots of happy tears. So did Uncle Ellis. She was an angel on earth and I can only imagine the reunion with David and her parents
I pray for Uncle Ellis and Shelly and her family that you will be comforted by our Father in Heaven. You all are in my heart and I love you.
