Sharon Neal Carlisle left this earth on June 1, 2023. She was born in Malad City, Idaho on November 3, 1942 to Ferrell O. and Carolyn Nielsen Neal. She married George Jay Carlisle and they shared 58 years together.
Sharon worked at ATK/Hercules for 39 years. After retiring, she worked at Red Butte Garden in the Green House and gave guided tours throughout the garden. She also gave tours of the Governor’s Mansion and was a member of Preservation Utah.
Sharon completed the Advanced Master Gardener program from Utah State. She loved gardening in her own yard and often volunteered to help others in theirs. Sharon and Jay enjoyed traveling and enjoyed many wonderful trips together.
She is survived by her brother-in-law Ralph Clark, niece Kimberly (Peter) Clark Blanas, nephew Tyler (Allison) Clark and niece Jamie (Derek) Clark Hansen. Preceded in death by her husband and sisters Suzan Neal Clark and Donna Neal Beecher.
Special gratitude to Sharon’s neighbors Jeannie Glassburn, Robert Larson, and Todd Vanderlinden for their many kindnesses and gentle care of Sharon after Jay’s passing and through her own illness.
Sharon was interred at Granite Cemetery in Sandy, Utah.
