Sharon Jacobsen Persch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away peacefully at her home on September 18, 2026, at the age of 93.

Sharon was born on November 14, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Neldon Jacobsen and Louise Christensen Jacobsen. She graduated from South High School in 1951. Gifted in both music and dance, Sharon was an accomplished pianist and taught ballroom dancing at the Arthur Murray Dance Company in Salt Lake City.

Her life centered on the two things she cherished most: her family and her faith. Sharon and Cap Persch were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple and shared 74 years of marriage. Sharon devoted herself to raising her four children and creating a loving, faith-filled home. The family spent several years living in California before returning to Salt Lake City. She was a wife and mother whom we loved and cherished.

Over the years, Sharon held Church callings, including on the Primary General Board and Relief Society presidencies for two wards. She served a proselyting mission in Washington State. Sharon also had a deep love for genealogy and preserving her family history.

She enjoyed traveling and treasured the memories she made with family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her husband Cap Persch; her sons, Steve Persch (Carol Brinton), Dave Persch (Kathryn Jones), and Bill Persch (Mary Jo Chlopek); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Wendy Persch.

Sharon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her love and devotion will remain an enduring example to the generations who follow her.
